Today we celebrate the birthday or appearance day of Swami Chidanand Saraswati Ji of Parmarth Ashram, Rishikesh, who is also fondly known as Muni Ji. It is said that rare souls like Munji appear on Earth with a mission to guide humanity towards spirituality, Godhead and Universal peace, love and joy.
I have been fortunate to have a long and deep association with Muni Ji, and have gained immense inspiration from his spiritually charged life. Muni Ji's motto in life is, “In the Service of God and humanity" and he has selflessly dedicated himself to the welfare of all, leading wide-scale service initiatives. One can sense his passion to serve and compassion towards every life through his causes related to human empowerment, Ganga Aarti, saving Mother Nature and Nation and culture building.
Muni Ji is a perfect blend of gyan yog, bhakti yog and karma yog and a firm proponent of balancing external prosperity with inner prosperity. He says that- "Spirituality is not against material development, but one must also evolve spiritually to find peace, love and bliss inside. If a human being doesn't find peace within, he will live in pieces!"
If there is one thing I have learnt from Muni Ji, it is to always be cheerful and in high spirits while playing our worldly roles. He conveys this message beautifully and poetically as - jinki hasti zinda hai unki masti jinda hai, warna to sab jabardasti zinda hai." It means, only those who are full of joy are full of life, rest are just struggling and forcing themselves to exist.
We allow wish Muni Ji a very healthy, dynamic and productive life for years to come!
