The name Nāra-da means “the giver of knowledge”. In Hindu legends, Narada Muni is a kind of cosmic prankster who goes about causing turmoil in order to activate spiritual understanding and positive outcomes.
The roots da or do meaning to grant and destroy are suggested to give rise to the word Narada which denotes one who grants to people mystical knowledge of Paramatma or Supreme Self.
Narada Muni is a dynamic symbol of the nature and activity of the mind, or the flashing intellect of intelligent persons when they consider an intricate situation or problem with a spiritual perspective and become successful in finding a solution.
